What is recorded here

Indicated is a fairy fort or earthen ringfort in Lismeehy, County Roscommon, Ireland. The site appears as a circular enclosure roughly 35 metres across on the 1837 Ordnance Survey map and as a curving field boundary on the 1915 edition. A curving wall and hedge remain on the east-facing slope, while another possible rath lies 190 metres to the south-southwest.
Marked as a circular enclosure (diam. c. 35m) on the 1837 ed. and as a curving field boundary on the 1915 ed. of the OS 6-inch map. Situated on a gentle E-facing slope, a curving field wall and hedge survive NW-NE, but no other feature is visible in pasture. It was probably a rath and the possible rath (RO029-102----) is c. 190m to the SSW. Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload: 24 August 2010
