What is recorded here

Indicated is a lost crannog on the SE shore of Black Lough in County Monaghan, Ireland. It appears as a small wooded promontory surrounded by marsh and trees, yet no one could enter or inspect it. The place resists observation, preserving only its shape on an old map and its absence from living memory.

Depicted as a wooded promontory (max. dims c. 50m NW-SE; c. 30m NE-SW) on the SE shore of the S oval part (dims c. 540m NE-SW; c. 220m NW-SE at NE) of Black Lough on the 1907 edition of the OS 6-inch map, and surrounded by marshy land in woodland.
