Man-made underground passage in Liscluman

Liscluman holds an underground passage beneath a rath in County Mayo. Local tradition identifies a grassed depression in the southern quadrant as the blocked entrance, suggesting people once cut through solid earth to build a hidden room. The passage may have served as a shelter, treasury or ceremonial space, but its true purpose has faded into legend. What remains is a smooth hole in the ground, waiting for someone brave enough to listen for breathing underneath the grass.
