Rathanny

Twelve metres north to south and sixteen east to west, the rectangular outline appears only when light rakes across wet pasture near Rathanny. It may mark an ancient ceremonial boundary or merely post-1700 drainage works for Rathanny House, leaving human curiosity suspended between centuries. Fifty metres southeast, a large ring-barrow anchors the area in genuine prehistoric death and memory. The uncertain rectangle beside that permanent monument turns measurement itself into a question rather than a answer.
