Structure

A spread (L 0.2m; Wth 2m; D 0.2m) of light brushwood in opposing drain faces. The wood is mostly concentrated within the most NW metre of the site and is irregularly orientated. Willow and alder are the main wood species identified, with a single piece of birch also noted. The site sits in poorly humified peat composed of Sphagnum and Eriophorum. It is located c. 0.5m above SMR OF015-265---- and c. 1m SE of SMR OF015-204---- and SMR OF015-263----. Recorded by the Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College, Dublin) in 1996. The evidence is not sufficient to warrant its acceptance as the remains of an archaeological monument.
