Structure

A deposit (Wth 0.67m; D 0.2m) of light brushwood and twigs in the drain face. The pieces are irregularly laid and do not form a clear structure. Wood species include hazel and alder. The site is situated in poorly humified Sphagnum peat. It is one of thirteen sites in close proximity in a 30m stretch of this drain and is located 0.4m from the SE end of SMR OF015-232---- and SMR OF015-246---- and 2.2m to the NW of SMR OF015-242----. Recorded by the Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College, Dublin) in 1996. The evidence is not sufficient to warrant its acceptance as the remains of an archaeological monument.
