Structure

A deposit (Wth 1.19m; D 0.21m) of light brushwood and twigs in opposing drain faces. Within the site, two small groupings can be distinguished. The NW group is up to four pieces deep but does not form a clear structure. The SE group occurs at a slightly higher level and also forms an irregular deposit. An outlying piece of brushwood is recorded 0.6m to the SE. The site is located in poorly humified Sphagnum and Eriophorum peat. Recorded by the Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College, Dublin) in 1996. The evidence is not sufficient to warrant its acceptance as the remains of an archaeological monument.
