Structure

A dispersed band of brushwood and a roundwood in the drain face (Wth 1.65m; D 0.65m). The pieces are irregularly laid but a number have been displaced by machinery. Two pieces have metal-cut toolmarks. Wood species include alder, ash, willow and oak. The pieces are found across a number of peat horizons and are too dispersed vertically to represent a synchronous deposit. The site is located 2.2m SE of SMR OF015-250----. Recorded by the Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College, Dublin) in 1996. The evidence is not sufficient to warrant its acceptance as the remains of an archaeological monument.
