What is recorded here

Leacht in Feaghmaan West is a raised stony mound with upright slabs beside a possible oratory church in County Kerry. The mound measures 3m by 2m, while a separate row of slabs stretches 5m to the west. People may have gathered there to mark loss, honour memory or shape the boundary between the living world and the dead.

This feature is located on the N side of the rectangular building or possible oratory church (KE078-002----) and it consists of a raised stony area or mound, 3m N-S x 2m E-W, from which a number of upright slabs protrude. Adjacent to it, 2m to W, is a 5m long, N-S row of upright slabs which vary from 0.4m to 0.85m in height. See attached plan taken from Henry 1957, fig. 14, 91.
