Indicated

Graveyard

What is recorded here

Indicated is a vanished graveyard in County Cavan, preserved only in early documents and Davies’s 1948 catalogue. The ground holds no stones, markers or ruins for eyes to touch. What remains is a name pointing at forgotten burials, waiting for imagination to complete what record left empty.
Noted by Davies (1948,73-7) in his catalogue of church sites mentioned in documents of the late 16th and early 17th centuries. No visible remains at ground level. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cavan' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1995). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload/revision: 22 December 2008

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
