Embanked enclosure

Marked as a circular embanked enclosure (ext. diam. c. 45m) only on the 1839 ed. of the OS 6-inch map, and situated at the bottom of the E-facing slope of Lacken Hill and c. 350m SE of a col on the NE side of the hill. This is a circular scrub-covered area with no evidence of an earthwork or of having been disturbed. It is not known locally as an antiquity and it may be a pond or marl-hole. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Wexford' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1996).
