What is recorded here

On a NW-facing slope of rising unimproved wet marshy land in upland area with good views in all directions. Nearby moated site (TS049-050----) 115m to SE. Overgrown moated site in good condition consists of a square-shaped area (36.6m NW-SE; 35m NE-SW) enclosed by an earthen bank (base Wth 2m-3.5m; top Wth 1.7m; int. H 0.3m; ext. H 1.5m) and wet waterlogged outer fosse (base Wth 3.5-5m; top Wth 5m; ext. D 1.2m). Cattle gap (Wth 4m) in centre of bank at SW and in W angle of bank, with evidence of cattle poaching causing damage to external face of bank along SW side. Possible evidence of a smaller enclosure (NW-SE 17m x 13m NE-SW) in W corner of interior which is defined by a low earthen bank (Wth 1m; H 0.2m), could be remains of a possible house or may be a more recent construction.
