Promontory fort is a promontory fort (coastal) in Knockmahon, County Waterford, Ireland. It occupies a triangular, grass-covered coastal promontory jutting southwest, cut off on the landward side by an eroded earthen bank and outer fosse. The interior is small at about twenty metres long, but it would have been much greater if two off-shore sea stacks were originally part of the fort. There is no visible entrance, and two ogham stones found in the fosse are now displayed in a park in Bunmahon.

Located on a triangular, grass-covered coastal promontory jutting SW, that is cut off on the landward side by an eroded earthen bank (L 35m; Wth c. 6m; ext. H 1.2m) and outer fosse (Wth c. 8m; ext. D 0.35m). The interior is small (L 20m) but if two off-shore sea stacks were originally part of the fort, the interior would have been much greater (L c. 90m). There is no visible entrance. An ogham stone (WA025-065001-) was found in the fosse in the 1980s which has been read (Manning 1989, 9) as: SENAQ MAC (or Q) ...Q (or C) ...NA. A second ogham stone (WA025-065002-) was found in the 1990s and has been read as: FEDILIMEQ MAQI TOQITAQ. The stones are now displayed in a park in Bunmahon (WA025-128001-; WA025-128002-), c. 600m to the WNW.
