During the 1980s a fragment of an ogham stone (WA025-065001-) was found at Knockmahon promontory fort (WA025-065----). In the 1990s a second, complete ogham stone was found in the fosse. Measuring 0.87m high x 0.59m x 0.25m it bears the following inscription: VEDILIMETO/ MAQI/ TOQITAQ. Both stones have been moved to the Geological Park at Bunmahon (see WA025-128002-) c. 600m to the NW. This stone has been studied as part of the ‘Ogham in 3D’ project undertaken by the School of Celtic Studies, Dublin Institute for Advanced Studies.
