Knockane holds a sixty-five metre stone ring where beehive huts still stand beside a man-made underground passage. The heavy bank has been absorbed into a local field edge, yet the cleared interior preserves a chambered house rather than an empty fairy tale. That much is visible in the stones. The cave marked on the 1842 survey and the forgotten life spent inside the passage belong to the story the place keeps.

Internal diameter c. 65m N-S, 65m E-W Situated in the corner of a field NE of KE014-058----, this site has an excellent view of the surrounding land. The enclosing stone bank has been incorporated into the fieldbank to the NW through W to S. Elsewhere it is on average 8m wide at the base and rises to 1m externally and 1.2m internally. In the interior are a series of beehive huts and a Man-made underground passage. 'Cave' is marked on the 1842 OS map. The above description is derived from C.
