What is recorded here

Hachured is a fairy fort in County Limerick, marked by a circular earthen bank and shallow fosse beneath mature beech trees. The ground slopes gently southward inside the ring, where pasture still covers the old boundary. Local story calls it a dwelling for unseen beings, not a human home. That warning transforms an ordinary field into a place where visibility and ownership become uncertain.

In pasture, on slight SW-facing slope. Roughly circular area (42m N-S; 45m E-W) enclosed by earthen bank (int. H 0.6m; ext. H 2m), with external fosse (Wth 3.4m) NW->S and external earthen bank (int. H 0.7m; ext. H 0.1m) WNW->NE. Outer face of external bank is stone faced at NW; external bank is incorporated in field boundary NW->SSE.
