What is recorded here

Kiltoome is a level stretch of rectangular fields south of its church, marked by shallow ditches and tied to the old enclosure. The regular shape suggests people farmed this land with care, perhaps sharing harvests or keeping livestock under church watch. Even if the ditches have silted and the names are lost, the fields still record a community that lived beside faith and worked the soil together.

Situated on a fairly level landscape. The church (ME036-011----) of Kiltoome is within a fairly regular field system covering about 7 ha (c. 18 acres) extending S. The fields are defined by silted ditches and are fairly rectangular (dims c. 60m x c. 40m). They appear to attach to the ecclesiastical enclosure (ME036-011004-) around the church, and are also visible on aerial photograph (GB89.M.09).
