Armorial plaque in Kilskeer

Armorial plaque

What is recorded here

Two stone lions still guard the O'Reilly name above the Kilskeer tomb, their carved manes frozen in perpetual rage. They flank a blurred central shape, perhaps a tree, marking the resting place of Hugh O'Reilly and Katherine Plunkett. The plaque turns a private grave into a public challenge, forcing viewers to read identity through muscle and motion rather than quiet text.
The table tomb of Hugh O’Reilly and his wife Katherine Plunkett (ME016-043002-) in Kilskeer graveyard (ME016-043001-) has two armorial crests inset in the wall above it. One (Wth 0.87m; H 1m) on the left, representing O'Reilly, has two lions rampant on either side of what might be a tree.
