Kilscanell Graveyard holds a nineteenth-century Church of Ireland church built above the lost medieval church of Kilscannell. Its rectangular plot, about 36 metres north-south and 42 metres east-west, is enclosed by a post-1700 stone wall with a gate in the centre of the west wall. The new church stands in the northern quadrant, leaving the older ground beneath and around it to keep whatever it remembered.

Described in 1840 as the 'site of the ancient church is now occupied by a small modern Protestant one, and there is nothing of interest to the antiquarian in the church yard' (OSL,. 48).
