Gateway, built 1820, comprising pair of limestone ashlar piers with profiled courses supporting cut-limestone capping having decorative finials, iron double gates, and unpainted roughcast flanking boundary wall over random rubble stone construction having 'battlemented' coping. Road fronted at entrance to grounds of Kilrush House.

Exhibiting high quality stone masonry with early iron work enhancing the aesthetic appeal of the composition an elegantly-composed gateway forms a neat self-contained group alongside an attendant gate lodge (12401309/KK-13-09) with the resulting assemblage making a pleasing visual statement at the entrance to the grounds of the Kilrush House estate.
