What is recorded here

This keyhole-shaped kiln (202) consisted of a flue (L c. 2m; Wth c. 0.4m) leading N to a bowl (dims 1.8m x 1.4m; max. D 0.5m) and it is at the W edge of the excavated area, c. 28m W of the central barrow (MEA038-071001-). It had been re-cut once, but its original basal, charcoal-rich, layer produced most of the cereal grains recovered, and these were dominated by oats but a barley grain provided a radiocarbon date of 695-967 cal. AD (BETA 246978).
