What is recorded here

Indicated is a twenty-metre crannog floating twenty-five metres from the Cavan shore, close enough for a stone to fly across but far enough to demand a boat. It is the kind of place where people may have rowed past land to face water on every side, turning a small island into a room with no doors. The lough keeps that choice alive because the island still stands apart from the bank that could have swallowed it.
