Killeen in County Louth, Ireland, once held a mound so familiar it gave Mount Field its name. The earth disappeared during the early 20th century, likely dragged away for ordinary local use, yet the field kept the shape of the lost mount in its identity. Forgetting the visible mound did not erase the place; it forced the memory into the name.
