Socket of Stone Cross — Report the wrong picture

Killary church in County Meath still holds the broken base of a high cross, its edge mouldings intact while the decorated centre pieces rest elsewhere. The graveyard kept what the sky lost, suggesting the cross stood tall enough to be remembered long after it fell.

The base (dims 0.72m; x 0.6m; H 0.4m) with edge mouldings and a fragment from the centre of a high cross are at the N corner of the graveyard of Killary church (ME012-020----). Two fragments with decorated panels that were found in the graveyard and are now in the National Museum of Ireland may have been from this cross (Harbison 1992, vol. 1, 125).
