Structure

A loose arrangement of three split timbers and two pieces of brushwood (Wth 0.65m; D 0.2m) in the drain face. The elements are dispersed between three different peat strata and there is no discernible structure. The peat strata can be characterised as poorly humified Sphagnum peat with Eriophorum and ericaceous remains. SMR OF007-126---- is located c. 3m to the S. Recorded by the Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College, Dublin) in 1997. The evidence is not sufficient to warrant its acceptance as the remains of an archaeological monument.
