Structure

A single stake (L 0.51m; diam. 0.055m) in a near vertical position in the drain face. The stake is a half-split roundwood with toolmarks evident on two sides where the splitting had been initiated. A piece of brushwood is located 2.4m to the S on the adjacent field but its association is unclear. Recorded by the Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College, Dublin) in 1997. The evidence is not sufficient to warrant its acceptance as the remains of an archaeological monument.
