What is recorded here
Enclosure in Kildromin is a wet, hidden field margin where an oval bank still leans above the pasture, barely visible unless the light strikes it at the right moment. The shape appeared in 1986 aerial photos as a semi-circle open to the north-east, but modern images show only a faint oval shadow, as if the land has pulled the marker back beneath the grass. It sits close to a ditch-barrow and the boundary with Milltown, suggesting people once drew a line around this place before the water and years erased the edge. Whatever it enclosed, the field kept the secret, leaving only a slight rise for someone walking slowly to find.
On low lying wet pasture, cut by land drains and watercourses, 200m SW of a townland boundary with Milltown. Ditch-barrow (LI032-244----) lies 162m to SW. Not depicted on OSi historic maps. Monument identified by the Bruff aerial photographic survey in 1986 (Bruff 161: AP 4/3633) as a semi-circular-shaped cropmark which is open to NNE. There is no cropmark of this nature visible on any of the modern orthoimages, however an oval-shaped earthwork (23m NW-SE; 20m NE-SW) defined by a possible bank, is visible to the immediate SE, as seen on the OSi orthoimage taken 2005-2012.
