What is recorded here
Standing stone in Jamestown is a conifer-plantation marker on a steep north-facing slope in County Limerick, Ireland, kept separate from the nearby buried mound and hidden from ordinary cartography. Local memory calls it the Giant’s rock, describing a fleeing giant, a throwing stone and finger marks still visible on its surface. That much is story rather than measurement, but the claim gives the place its shape: a hostile landscape where size, distance and violence become visible in rock.
In a conifer plantation, on steep N-facing slope. Possible burial mound (LI055-026----) lies 235m to the SW. Not marked on OSi historic maps.
