What is recorded here
Inscribed stone in Relagh Beg, County Cavan, Ireland: a 0.45m x 0.9m stone with a deeply incised unread inscription sits beside two disc-headed crosses and a Latin cross set in cement south of the north nave wall. The marks may record a name, a prayer or a warning for people who gathered at that church. They still withhold their meaning, surviving every attempt to force them into a familiar answer.
The heads of two churchyard crosses with disc-heads and fragments probably belonging to one of them, a Latin churchyard cross with an inscription, and a stone with an inscription are set in cement just S of the N nave wall. This stone (max. dims 0.45m x 0.9m; T 0.08m) has a deeply incised inscription which has not yet been read.
