Hut site in Inchincoosh

In rough hill pasture, on a SE-facing slope, overlooking the Thureehouma stream and within a network of relict field boundaries (KE085-041003-). The remains of a circular hut site (diam. 2m) defined by a collapsed drystone wall (T 0.7m; H 0.4m) consisting of large stones which protrude above the surface of the bog. The hut site is obscured by a dense growth of ferns. Loose stones are scattered within the interior and around the hut site externally. Two other hut sites (KE085-041008-, KE085-041001-) are 1m to the S and 18m to the N, respectively. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Kerry.
