Mound in Inch is a 14m wide, 2m high grassy dome on a roadside hillock west of Balrothery village, prominent enough to see from the lane and old enough to have lost its eastern edge to cattle feet. It sits where a field stops being worked and becomes rough grass, as if the land itself drew a line around the mound and said no plough here. The flat top and shallow slope suggest something was placed or built there before memory, then forgotten, then half-erased, then quietly kept alive by the grass and the village’s distance.

Situated in a prominent position on a hillock by the roadside west of Balrothery village. It is a roughly circular, flattish topped mound (diam. 14m; max. H 2m). The monument had been eroded by cattle along the E and on the top (Healy 1975, 17). Has been left under rough grass which extends downwards to the field limits to south and west forming a buffer- remainder of the field arable.
