Situated on a promontory jutting out into the S end of Ballaghkeeran Bay in Killinure Lough at SE end of Lough Ree. The Breensford River lies c. 90m to S. Monument described in 1976-1981 as located in the SE corner of the interior of a possible promontory fort (WM022-041----) are the sod-covered remains of a square-shaped house foundation. A second house site lies outside, to the immediate NE of the fort (WM022-041----).
