The Down Survey (1655-6) map shows a dwelling in this townland. This may be on the site of Bay House which is marked on the 1937 OS 6 inch edition as 'Bay House (in Ruins)'. Now a concrete works. Excavation (Licence no. E3919) in the vicinity in advance of road development, uncovered medieval activity.
