Cooldorragha holds Tobar Colum, a sacred well named for Colum and buried somewhere near the old chapel. The exact spot has vanished, but the name remains, pointing to water that people once believed could touch the soul. Perhaps they drank at dawn or washed fevered hands in the dark, trusting the well more than medicine. The earth keeps that much even when the surface forgets the hole.

According to Brash (1879, 160), 'In the neighbourhood [of the old chapel of Cooldorrihy] is also a sacred well called Tobar Colum'. Exact location not known. Linked to Saint Columba, the holy well Tobar Colum was traditionally associated with healing rituals and was likely visited for its perceived curative properties. The name reflects the early medieval spread of Columban monastic influence in the region.
