What is recorded here

Grangan West holds a buried life beneath a farmyard on Corkscrew Hill, where slag, animal bone and burnt clay still mark kitchens and forges from several ages. A bronze dagger and stone knife emerged near a burial cairn, linking domestic work, combat or ceremony, and death in one small ridge. The bay glitters north while the field system repeats around the site, suggesting people returned here across centuries rather than passing once.

In an area built over by a farmyard near the top of Corkscrew Hill, with views over Ballyvaughan Bay to N and within multiperiod field system (CL005-115001-). Listed as 'Settlement' in the RMP (1996). Isolated pockets of archaeological deposits were disturbed c. 35m N of a burial cairn (CL005-115002-). Slag, animal bone and flecks of burnt clay were observed and a stone dagger/knife, a bronze object with raised mid-rib (possible dagger) were recovered (ibid.).
