Knocknanacree ridge still casts its shadow across the bare oval where humans or fairies once drew a line around their own life. The fort has lost its wall but kept its shape, a shallow dish in the grass that refuses to be forgotten. People may have stacked stones there, tied horses there, or simply avoided the place because the land already belonged to someone else.

Marked on the 1st edition of the OS map as a univallate circular enclosure and named 'Fort' on the Fair plan, this site is now marked by an irregular patch of bare ground in an otherwise grassy field. This measures 30m N-S and 45m E-W. The site is located in undulating pastureland on the N side of the Knocknanacree ridge. The above description is derived from J. Cuppage, ‘Corca Dhuibhne.
