What is recorded here

Fulacht fia in Griffinstown is a fulacht fia in Griffinstown, County Westmeath, Ireland. The site sits on a slight rise in relatively low-lying, rough pasture with a stream to the immediate east and south, offering restricted views of the surrounding landscape. Annotated as a fort on the 1837 OS Fair Plan map, it is depicted there as a very small circular-shaped enclosure and as a small circular-shaped earthwork on the 1837 OS 6-inch map. Although a 1971 description recorded that no surface remains were visible, the site would have been suitable for a fulachta fia and is not visible today on Digital Globe aerial photography.
