Greatconnell is an unmarked human burial site where bones keep appearing during ordinary land work. In the late 1940s, three skeletons were found in the gravel ridges north of the standing stone, and other fragments have since been uncovered while the ground was being cleared. The exact burial places are no longer known, leaving the field with a quiet absence at its centre.

According to local information, in the late-1940’s three human skeletons were discovered in the gravel ridges to the N of Greatconnell standing stone (KD023-015----), and other human bones have apparently been uncovered since during land clearance works.
