What is recorded here
Castle is a phantom castle recorded on the Down Survey (1655-6) near Clownings House, yet no stones have been found. Its absence is the shape of the story: a castle large enough to mark and small enough to leave behind.
Recorded on the Down Survey (1655-6) in the vicinity of the present Clownings House. The monument has not been located.
