Gateway, c.1870, comprising pair of rendered channelled piers with rendered capping, decorative wrought iron double gates, and roughcast curved flanking walls incorporating pointed-arch pedestrian opening to north having rendered surround, painted rendered terminating piers, and roughcast flanking boundary wall to site. Road fronted at entrance to grounds of Saint John’s College.
An attractive gateway of simple appearance, which contributes to the streetscape value of John’s Hill.
