Granardkille is a deserted settlement in County Longford where a rubbish pit held early medieval animal bone, a blue-glass bracelet fragment and an intact bronze ringed pin. The pin is complete while the bracelet is broken, as if one person wore pride and another lost ornament in the dark.

During the course of research excavations in 2002 at the deserted settlement (LF010-078001-) in Granardkille, a rubbish pit of early medieval date was found. It produced masses of animal bone, a blue-glass bracelet fragment and an intact bronze ringed pin (O'Conor 2006, 319). Compiled by: Olive Alcock Date of upload: 26 June 2013
