What is recorded here

Lying prostrate in the nave (2.65m N of the S wall and 6.8m W of the E wall of the S aisle) of the 13th-century church of St Mary’s (KK020-060006-) in Gowran. A tapering sandstone slab (L 1.58m; max. Wth at top 0.53m; surface Wth at top 0.44m; max. Wth at base 0.4m; surface Wth at base 0.3m; D 0.15m) with a concave chamfer around the upper edge. The top sinister corner of the slab is missing. There is no visible decoration or inscription. Similar tapering slabs date to the 13th/14th-century. Compiled by: Jean Farrelly Date of upload: 17 September 2019
