Grave Yard stands on a low hillock beside the 16th green of Athy Golf Club in County Kildare, enclosed by a mortared stone wall and crowded with 19th and 20th-century headstones. The dead have watched golfers sweep past for generations, their names worn smooth while the living keep the grass cut and the air moving. Somewhere beneath the centre lies the ghost of a church, its foundations reduced to a hint in the soil. To swing a club there is to play inside a room where listening matters more than distance.

At the N end and abutted N-E-S by the 16th green of the Athy Golf Club, and skirted by a laneway at NW. A low but prominent hillock is enclosed by a mortared stone wall delimiting a rectangular area (45m NW-SE; 36.5m NE-SW; H 2.5m at SE). The well-maintained interior contains a dense concentration of 19th and 20th-century headstones and a few flat graveslabs.
