Fairy fort / ringfort in Garranturton is a fairy fort or ringfort in Garranturton, County Waterford, Ireland. The 1925 edition of the Ordnance Survey six-inch map marked a circular embanked enclosure with an external diameter of about 40 metres. That same account situated the site in pasture towards the bottom of a north-facing slope and recorded that it was not visible at ground level.
Marked as a circular embanked enclosure (ext. diam. c. 40m) only on the 1925 ed. of the OS 6-inch map. Situated in pasture towards the bottom of a N-facing slope, it is not visible at ground level.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Waterford' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1999). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
