Galbally Church in County Limerick still keeps a small worn slab south of its door, bearing the incised words Here Lyeth the Body of Mary ... His Wife. The stone may date to the 17th century, when a husband commissioned a narrow marker for his wife and both names crossed the danger of forgetting. Mary remains half-hidden in damage, yet the chamber still holds her shape: a living woman made visible through the love of the man who named her.

Possible 17th century headstone described in the Urban Survey of Limerick (Bradley et. al. 1989, 130-1) as following; '"South of the south door of Galbally Church (LI049-086002-) is a small worn slab with the incised inscription: HERE LYETH THE BODY OF MARY ...
