Fulacht Fiadh

In rough grazing, c. 15m N of well. Oval mound of burnt material (13.7m NE-SW; c. 16m SE-NW; H 0.75m); central depression (diam. 4.1m; D 0.5m). Platform (H 0.55m), with shallow fosse (D 0.4m) to NE, surrounds mound from NW->ESE, extending max. distance of 9.1m from edge of mound. Probably one of ten fulachta fiadh (see 10547) recorded in townland by Bowman (1934, 397-8). The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
