Situated on flat poorly drained land which was overgrown by bog with nearby fulacht fia (TN036-050028) 150m to the SE. The site was revealed during topsoil stripping and consisted of a spread (dims. 6m N-S x 10.7m E-W; 0.2m D) of burnt material covering a sub-oval trough (dims. 3.45m N-S x 2.72m E-W x 1.22m D) which had been recut by a second subrectangular trough (dims. 1.24m N-S x 1.64m E-W x 0.37m D). The trough fill consisted of wood fragments, sheep bone and teeth and occasional fire-cracked stones with a wooden step on top of the sandy fills of the trough which was dendro-dated to 932 BC.
