What is recorded here

Indicated is a fairy fort in County Mayo, Ireland, holding a D-shaped circle thirty-one metres wide within rich pasture. Its eastern entrance cuts through a narrow fosse, inviting entry past outer and inner banks that still stand on the gentle slope. People may have lived there before retiring into legend, leaving behind a shape precise enough to measure but quiet enough to forget.

In rich pasture, on gentle E-facing slope. D-shaped area (31m N-S; 31m E-W), enclosed by inner bank (H 0.6m) and external bank (ext. H 1.2m), with well defined intervening fosse (D 1.7m). Fosse interrupted on E by entrance (Wth 2.1m), with causeway. The above description has been derived from D.
