What is recorded here
Fairy forts hide inside ordinary green hills. That is why people walk past them, not into them. The ring may contain a chamber where forgotten things wait to be remembered. This is a story, not a claim, but the land has no reason to stop being strange.
Location of ringfort shown on map of Sliabh Luachra (O Duinnín 1985, map facing page 88). No further details; exact location not known.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 3: Mid Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
