In rough hill pasture, on an uneven area of the NE-facing slope of Knockowen Mountain. A D-shaped area (14m NE-SW), with a straight NE side (L 16m), defined by remains of drystone wall (T c. 0.55m; H 0.5m), which protrudes above blanket bog. Some boulders occur in the lower course. There is a well-defined entrance (Wth 0.65m) at NE. There is a hut site (KE109-048006-) immediately to the E and another hut site (KE109-048004-) 18m to the E. Relict field boundaries (KE109-048008-) are in the immediate vicinity to the N. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Kerry.
